In March of 1993, Chris began using boxing as a form of cross-training at Ottawa’s Beaver Boxing Club (BBC). He saw it as a performance edge for football – he didn’t intend to become a “boxer”... Two months later, Chris hung up his football cleats and began training for his first amateur boxing match. From 1993-98 he competed for BBC and was the 1996 Ontario Super-Heavyweight Champion. After hanging up his competitive boxing gloves in 1998, Chris began coaching "Boxing For Sport Performance" to athletes looking for an off-season conditioning edge. Combining his knowledge and experience as a former Amateur Boxing Champion, a Certified Exercise Physiologist (Canadian Society for Exercise Physiology www.csep.ca ) and a his accrediation from the National Coaching Certification Program www.coach.ca) Chris has integrated Exercise Science and the "Sweet Science" (of Boxing) to create PHOENIX BOXING'S Unique Skill, Strength and Conditioning System (PB-SSCS).
